Rennsport is a sim racing video game jointly developed by Competition Company and Polish video games developer Teyon.[1][2] On 6 June 2023 the game's publisher, Competition Company, announced that development had moved into a closed beta stage[3] and could be accessed via the Epic Game Store[4] through waitlist invitation only. A full release date is yet to be confirmed.

Gameplay[edit]

Rennsport is an ultra-realistic racing simulation experience, combined with custom Unreal Engine 5 graphics.[5] The game includes both real-world and community developed fictional tracks, alongside vehicles from numerous disciplines of motorsport.[6][7][8] The game also features a free-to-download Mobile app that links to players' accounts.[9]

The game has both online and offline modes, allowing players to drive in single player, or against human competitors in an online multiplayer. On 27th March 2024 it was announced that Time Trials had been added into the game, allowing players to race against a ghost of themselves, or any other player from the global leaderboard.[10] Vehicles were developed to interact realistically with track surfaces and players must account for tyre wear, temperature and vehicle damage to drive effectively.[11] The game features a rating system, a safety rating system and as of 16 May 2024, has 10 playable tracks and 11 playable cars.[4]

Rennsport is currently the host game for ESL R1.[12][13] and the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup Deutschland 2024.[14][15][16] On 3 April 2024 it was announced that Rennsport and ESL R1 would take part in the 2024 Esports World Cup.[17][18][19]
